Harnessing the power of digital twinning to boost construction productivity

Improving productivity remains the holy grail for the UK construction industry. Modular building techniques are one solution to the challenge, allowing the creation of standard, repeatable products that can be used across a wide range of projects (productisation). However, the use of such methods needs to be carefully balanced with the desire of clients to  create unique and standout end products.

Meanwhile, traditional construction industry processes can be hindered by multiple trades working in silos. This can cause misunderstandings or rework leading to project delays and significant cost increases.

Technology is at hand to solve these issues. Digital twins provide a virtual model designed to accurately reflect a real-word building, aggregating information from the planning stage, promoting stakeholder collaboration, improving project governance, and achieving high productivity through modular construction and productisation.

In this session, we will introduce the close collaboration between project stakeholders via a common data environment, actual examples of productisation and construction project services provided by Dassault Systèmes through an Outcome-Based Engagement model.

Key takeaways
